Program Overview
In partnership with Concordia University of Edmonton, ECSD Dual Credit Program offers courses for students interested in getting started on studies in The Bachelor of Science Degree in the Information Technology (BSc IT) Program.
The Information Technology (BSc IT) Program is designed to prepare future graduates to possess the right combination of knowledge and practical expertise to solve computing technology problems in any organization.

Course Details
Semester I September 10, 2025 - December 17, 2025: IT 101 Introduction to Information Technology
Topics covered include computer hardware and its operation, operating systems, application software, networks, and computer communications, the Internet and the World Wide Web, network protocols and addressing, cyberthreats and security, and other emerging technologies. The impact of information technology on our lives is also explored.
Semester II February 4, 2026 - May 27, 2026: IT 110 Computer Systems & Platforms
An introduction to computing systems and platforms, including a variety of concepts that underlie modern operating systems and the basic functions common to all operating systems. The course includes hands-on exercises to ensure familiarity with user interfaces and their capabilities.
Admission Requirements: Enrolled concurrently or completed Math 20-1 or 20-2
Location: Mother Margaret Mary High School, 2010 Leger Road
Day/Time: Wednesdays 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, students must be available to partake in 13.5 hours of remote labs
