Tipi Teachings

June 5 • Day 5 • nîyânan • ᓃᔮᓇᐣ

The nehiyaw iscihkewina—Cree values—are shared through the teachings of the tipi, where each pole represents a value that guides how we live, learn and care for one another. As the structure is raised, it reflects the strength that comes from living these teachings together.

Rooted in respect, relationships and responsibility to all Creation, these teachings remind us of the importance of gratitude, kindness and connection. We are grateful to the Elder who shared this knowledge and guided this work.
