Kara and her husband are parents to four children. Three of their children have graduated from Edmonton Catholic Schools, while their youngest is currently attending Catholic high school. Over the past 28 years, Kara has remained actively involved in her children’s schools, dedicating significant time to supporting their educational journeys.

Beyond her involvement in education, Kara is an active volunteer within her parish community. She is proudly engaged with the Refugee Committee, which includes multiple students attending Edmonton Catholic Schools. In this role, Kara oversees the educational needs of these new students and supports teachers in fostering a welcoming and effective learning environment.

Professionally, Kara has experience as a sales representative for CPG as well as pharmaceutical sales. In addition to her corporate background, she served as a Trustee for Edmonton Catholic Schools from 2007 to 2010. During her tenure, Kara was a passionate advocate for children of all abilities and a strong proponent of inclusiveness in education.

Looking ahead, Kara hopes to continue her advocacy for publicly funded Catholic schools that are dedicated to serving all students and ensuring their success. She remains committed to upholding a faith-filled environment where every learner is supported academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Kara’s vision is for Edmonton Catholic Schools to remain inclusive and accessible, so that every student can thrive and reach their full potential within a caring community.
