Programming Changes at St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School, effective 2023-2024
December 8, 2022
Each year, the Edmonton Catholic School Division works with schools to optimize their programming to meet the needs of their school community. The mission of Edmonton Catholic Schools is to provide a Catholic education that inspires students to learn and prepares them to live fully and serve God in one another.
Throughout the fall, Educational Planning met with the St. Boniface Catholic School administration, staff, and school community to gather feedback on programming options.

As a result of the feedback gathered, the following program changes will be implemented in September 2023:
- St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School will be the first school in our Division to offer STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Four schools in our Division currently offer Green STEM. The STEAM program incorporates visual arts, language arts, physical arts, dance, drama, and music and will focus on establishing partnerships with organizations to bring this creativity and imagination to our STEM programming. More information will be shared in early 2023.
- St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School will now offer Kindergarten with Full-Day Programming.
- St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School will no longer offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) International Baccalaureate Programme. The program will remain in place until June 30, 2023.
