ECSD Reports Outstanding Assurance Results

Assurance Survey Results

Edmonton Catholic Schools is reporting exceptional results from the ECSD Assurance Survey (2021-2022) which took place from December 6, 2021 to January 28, 2022. The annual survey invites students in Grades 4-12, families, and staff to share their voice about their experience with Edmonton Catholic Schools to assure we are providing an excellent Catholic education. This year, we received more than 26,000 responses to our ECSD Assurance Survey.

Overall, high rates of satisfaction and agreement were reported by students, families, and staff groups. Highlights include:

  • 95.9% of our parents and guardians report overall satisfaction with their child’s school.
  • Our students (93.6%), staff (97%) and our parents and guardians (96%) agree that we have a strong Catholic identity that supports student education.
  • 95.5% of our parents and guardians and 94.8% of our staff feel that we provide safe and caring learning environments to our students.
  • 93.6% of our students, 96.8% of our staff, and 96.7% of our parents and guardians agree that our students are learning about First Nations, Metis, and Inuit culture, history, perspectives, and experiences as part of their education.

The results from the survey are used by the Division and our schools to ensure that we are providing the best possible Catholic education experience to our students.

“This survey is essential for our Board and our Division. We see it as a report card and check-in to assure we are doing everything possible to set our students up for success,” said Board Chair Sandra Palazzo. “This was another challenging year for families and staff and the results are outstanding.”

As part of our commitment to hearing the voice of our students, families, and staff, our ECSD Assurance Survey is administered annually in order to guide us in our planning. We are expecting the Alberta Education Assurance Results, which includes high school completion rates, later this school year.
