700 girls in 53 ECSD schools had an opportunity to “STEM like a girl” for the Division’s 4th annual Women in Tech Day! The day included 14 sessions and experiments led by ECSD teachers, consultants, and various community members and was highlighted by keynote speaker, Dr. Farah Alibay, who works for NASA and is part of the Mars 2020 mission – she’s even driven the Perseverance rover on the planet!

This event is a kick-off to a series of learning opportunities that shine a spotlight on female voices and schools will now have eight weeks to explore and celebrate female innovation. The goal of the event is to empower and inspire female students to develop their talents and abilities, nurture a passion for STEM, and innovate as Catholic agents of change in our technological world.
