Student exchange programs are a great way for students to learn how to communicate and collaborate with diverse cultures, learn more about international communities, and become active global citizens.
Students in ECSD can apply to study abroad in Québec, Mexico, and Spain through Alberta Education.
By taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you will get a chance to:

Student Exchange Program - Timelines and Language Requirements

Language Requirement
Student participants should have completed or will complete the 20-level course during the program year.
Costs involved with the Program
Families are responsible for the costs associated with the exchange partner. Families are also expected to cover their child’s travel expenses, travel insurance and provide enough spending money for their time away.
Original completed student application packages must be mailed to Alberta Education (see address below) and a digital copy to studyabroad@gov.ab.ca by Saturday, March 15, 2025. Incomplete or handwritten applications will not be accepted.
