Our Learning Services Team is inviting you to embrace boredom! Boredom allows our minds to be empty and filled with creativity. 

Below you will find a handful of ideas involving the outdoors, creative play, and even targeted technology that will take you through the winter break.

Outdoor Book and Scavenger Hunt

Winter is an exciting time to get outside for some fresh air. Consider going out for a walk and using a nature scavenger hunt. You can also explore the amazing parks and green spaces in Edmonton.

Snow Fun

Check out any of the City of Edmonton's Toboggan Hills. Be sure to follow all signs and take safety precautions.

Snow Painting

Grab some spray bottles, add water, and food colouring. Create a snow masterpiece or sculpture.

Where in the World?

Travel the world from the comforts of your home with Google Earth. It is free and works on any device. There are games, fun facts, virtual reality, and more for kids to explore. Where will you go first?

Guess What?

You can play a fun guessing games using items around the house. Fill a bag with small obejcts, toys, and even nature items. Takes turns reaching your hand in the bag and describing the object for others to guess.

Edmonton Public Library

Visit your branch of the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) over the Christmas Break. Get your free library card or take part in free events geared to kids and teens. Please note that some events require advance registration.
