Each year, students and staff of Edmonton Catholic Schools embrace the opportunity to create a more just and loving world through acts of social justice. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, these projects help our communities better understand essential themes such as:

  • Life and Dignity of the Human Person
  • Call to Family, Community, and Participation
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Preferential Option for the Poor
  • The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
  • Solidarity
  • Care For God’s Creation

Throughout the year, schools across the Division engage in numerous whole-school and class-specific social justice activities based on a Catholic worldview. These activities foster a deeper understanding of our Catholic faith and demonstrate how our students are putting their faith into action.

The impact and stories of these initiatives are beautifully captured in the Social Justice Report 2023-2024, highlighting how our schools and departments act as agents of change within the community.
