ECSD Annual Survey Highlights Strong Results Across Schools
Edmonton Catholic Schools is pleased to share the results of the ECSD Annual Survey, which reflect the high quality of Catholic education and the positive experiences of our school communities.
ECSD Annual Survey Highlights
The ECSD Annual Survey is a key tool for gathering feedback from students, families, and teaching staff. From January 5 to January 23, 2026, students in Grades 4-12, certificated teachers, and parents and guardians were invited to share their perspectives. In total, 45,737 survey responses were received from across the Division.
“The Annual Survey offers an important snapshot of how our school communities experienced the year. Even amid disruption and uncertainty, the feedback reflects strong satisfaction across students, families, and teachers, and helps inform how we continue to support learning, well-being, and faith formation in every ECSD school,” Shared Chief Superintendent Lynnette Anderson.
The survey questions align with the Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Framework and the priorities outlined in the Division Plan for Continuous Growth (2023-2026). Families received a paper survey that could be returned to the school or mailed.
Overall Satisfaction
Survey feedback reflects strong confidence in the quality of Catholic education across the Division, with students, parents and guardians, and certificated teachers reporting high levels of satisfaction.
- 94.2% of families expressed overall satisfaction with the quality of education at their child’s school
- 96.5% of certificated teachers reported overall satisfaction with the quality of education at their school
- 87.7% of students reported overall satisfaction with the quality of education at their school
"The Annual Survey is an important measure of how well Edmonton Catholic Schools is serving its communities. These results reflect confidence across areas such as Catholic identity, teaching and learning, engagement, and student well-being," said Board Chair Sandra Palazzo. "The Board values this feedback as part of our responsibility to listen, be accountable, and assure our educational partners that we are committed to continuous improvement across the Division."
