Edmonton Catholic Schools (ECSD) and Unifor Local 52-A, representing educational support staff, are pleased to announce the ratification of a new four‑year collective agreement.

The previous agreement expired on August 31, 2024. A notice to bargain was received on June 14, 2024, and negotiations between the parties began on April 22, 2025, concluding on June 6, 2025, with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement. 

Unifor Local 52‑A members voted in favour on June 16, 2025.

The new agreement runs from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2028. It includes enhancements to salary, benefits, and family medical leave, along with language clarifications around definitions, statutory holidays, and parental leave.

“Educational support staff are essential to the day-to-day life of our schools and the success of our students,” said Sandra Palazzo, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “On behalf of the Board, I extend our deepest gratitude to both bargaining teams for their respectful dialogue and shared commitment to reaching this agreement.”

The Board of Trustees has accepted and ratified the agreement at the June 18, 2025 Public Board Meeting.
