Edmonton Catholic Schools Foundation Celebrates an Incredible Year!

For the Edmonton Catholic Schools Foundation, the 2023-2024 school year has shown unprecedented need due to increasing social and economic barriers. Staying true to the belief that every student deserves a chance to dream without such barriers, the Foundation has met these challenges head-on, having another successful year of supporting those most in need in the Edmonton Catholic School Division community.

Over the past school year, the Foundation’s Dreams for Kids campaign disbursed a total of $509,626 across the Division. This came in the form of 151 grants, impacting 19,782 students and community members.

Some specific grants over the past year include:

  • Sponsored 1,255,710 snacks/meals across 25 high-needs schools, which supported 6,054 students in 2024
  • Subsidized transportation costs for a student needing to attend chemotherapy sessions
  • Awarded two post-secondary music scholarships to deserving Grade 12 students
  • Subsidized numerous students’ camp fees
  • Sponsored multiple school excursions to seniors homes, so students could enact social justice initiatives and share their light with older generations
  • Provided emergency financial assistance for families fleeing domestic violence

The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the valuable partnership and support of the Edmonton Catholic School Division. It is the Foundation’s hope in the 2024-2025 school year to work closer with ECSD in making the dreams of students come true.

By changing one child’s life at a time, enhancing their ability to hope and dream, and by being a resource that school staff can turn to, the Foundation hopes to continue making a difference in the ECSD community.
