National Indigenous Peoples Day 2023

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!

This day was chosen as National Indigenous Peoples Day as it is the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. For the Indigenous people who celebrate the summer solstice, it is a time to honour Grandfather Sun  with dances, ceremonies, spiritual practices, offerings, music, food, and community gatherings.

Enjoy this touching story about the importance of being true to yourself by local Métis storyteller Linda Piché Gordon. Follow the journey of a young coyote who longs to be like someone else and the troubles it brings.
