LINC Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) is a free on-site child care that is available while parents are receiving information related to language skills and assistance they need to be successfully settled in this country. CNC is focused on the unique needs of children who are new to Canada (some born in Canada to parents who are new to Canada), and features high safety standards as well as specialized programming that includes: language learning, creating an inclusive environment, managing the effects of culture shock, and more.
Presently there are two LINC Care for Newcomer Children programs in the Edmonton Catholic Schools. They are located at St. Basil and St. Francis Women’s. The programs are licensed under the Alberta Government as an Innovative Program and are funded by IRCC. The CNC program provides care for children between the ages of 13 months and 5 years.
LINC CNC is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 2:45pm.
