Careers: The Next Generation

Careers: The Next Generation is a non-profit tasked with assisting students in the area of RAP, Internships, and ICT.  This non-profit receives Alberta Government funding to partner with government, educators, communities, industry, parents and students to introduce youth to meaningful employment and develop the skilled workers of the future.  All internships through Careers: The Next Generation are paid.

Upcoming virtual sessions are being offered below by Careers: TNG.  There are opportunities for all students in grades 9 through 12, as well as specific sessions for young women in the trades.

Internships let you “test drive” a career. Careers: The Next Generation works in partnership with schools and employers to offer internships all around Alberta, in all kinds of different fields, so you can find out what it’s really like to work in a job that interests you. On top of building confidence in your career path, our programs let you gain work experience, earn a wage, earn high school credits and make connections with future employers – all before high school’s even over.

CAREERS: The Next Generation will be presenting about what their role in Work Experience Education in Alberta.  They are excited to talk with students and parents about all the great opportunities available for students through high school career exploration!

They will introduce you to CAREERS and the various paid internship programs they help facilitate: RAP, ICT, Young Women in Trades and Technology, Indigenous Youth Career Pathways and more! 

Additionally, they will show you how to start the application process and share some tips on how to succeed in an internship!

All interested students and parents are welcome to attend

Young Women in Trades and Technology (YWITT)

YWITT is a program designed to break barriers and give young women the opportunity and confidence to explore different career options in non-traditional skilled trades and technologies.

The YWITT program will start youth on a journey to gain awareness, exploration, and experience.  Connect with CAREERS to discover opportunities for high school students to land a paid internship while they are earning high school credits and work experience hours towards their apprenticeship certification.
