Orange Shirt Day

ECSD schools and sites will recognize Orange Shirt Day on Friday, September 29 to
reflect on the legacy of residential schools and honour the survivors and the children who never got to go home.
The Government of Canada has proclaimed September 30 as the
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day will
honour survivors, their families, and their communities. It will also ensure that public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.
All Division schools and sites will be closed for Monday, October 2 in lieu of September 30.
