100 Voices  Pre-Kindergarten Application

Criteria for Pre-K Eligibility    

To be eligible for the Pre-Kindergarten (100 Voices) program, children need to be 4 years old and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • English Language Learners (must be 4 years of age by December 31st, 2020)
  • Mild/Moderate developmental delays (must be 4 years of age by December 31st, 2020)
  • Severe developmental delays (must be 4 years of age by December 31st, 2020)
  • Typically developing - fees may apply (must be 4 years of age by December 31st, 2020)

Families interested in Pre-Kindergarten (100 Voices) programs for the 2020-2021 school year, need to apply at the school that your child is planning on attending.  From there, the schools will contact you to book a screening session for the spring. Pre-Kindergarten screening sessions are being held beginning in March, 2020.  If a site is full, you may be directed to another site if space is still available.

What is Pre-Kindergarten (100 Voices) Screening?

Using age-appropriate engaging activities, a Speech Language Pathologist and an Occupational Therapist evaluate your child to help determine program eligibility during a screening session.


How old must my child be to register for an Early Learning Kindergarten program?

To register for Kindergarten your child must be five years old on or before December 31st of the school year that they will be starting Kindergarten.

What documentation is required to submit an application (PreK) or registration (K)?

You will be asked to provide proof of your child’s name, date of birth and citizenship. Only the following documents are accepted:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Parent Work Permit
  • Parent Study Permit
  • Adoption Papers

Please provide the schools with copies of all external assessments (including diagnosis from health care professionals and Alberta Health Services) at time of application. In the event that you do not have an official copy, please request the documentation from the writer and submit to the school as soon as possible.
