Students shall conduct themselves so as to reasonably comply with the following code of conduct:
a) The student is diligent in pursuing his/her studies.
b) The student attends school regularly and punctually.
c) The student cooperates with all staff in the school.
d) The student complies with all rules of the school.
e) The student accounts to teachers for his/her conduct.
f) The student respects the rights of students and staff in the school and treats them with dignity.
Specific Rules of Conduct
Students may be suspended or recommended for expulsion from Holy Trinity High School for committing the following:
Bullying, Hazing, etc.
Possessing, using or transmitting any object that can reasonably be considered to constitute a weapon.
Possessing, using, selling, buying, transmitting, or concealing any alcoholic beverage, narcotic or hallucinogenic drug, marijuana, barbiturate, amphetamine, or intoxicant.
Gambling on school premises or during school events.
Failure to comply with the smoking restrictions on school property as established by the Edmonton Catholic School System.
Trespassing on the property of any other school. Students must not enter the property of any school other than Holy Trinity High School unless they have the permission of the school's staff.
Any conduct threatening to use or counseling other persons to use violence, force, coercion, extortion, threats, intimidation, fear or disruptive means.
Students involved in fighting or any other form of violence.
Throwing any object in an attempt to hit a person.
Blatant sexual behavior.
Willful destroying, defacing or damaging property.
Habitual neglect of responsibility.
Any other behavior which the principal of the school judges as being disruptive to the efficient and effective functioning of a Catholic school environment.
Electronic Device/Cell Phone Policy
A student may only use a cell phone/electronic device before school, at lunch time, and after school. Use at any other time is in violation of the Student Conduct Policy.

Note: this would include a cell phone ringing/vibrating during class thus interrupting the lesson.
1st offence – teacher takes the phone/device away and the student will get it back at the end of the class period. Teacher records the violation in the Discipline Section on PowerSchool.
2nd offence – teacher takes phone/device away and gives it to the grade coordinator. The student will have to get it back from the grade coordinator
at the end of the day. Grade coordinator will record the offence in the Discipline Section.
3rd offence – student’s phone/device is taken away and given to grade coordinator. The student’s parents will be notified. At this point, disciplinary action will take place. Again, the administrator will record the information in the Discipline Section.

at the end of the day. The grade coordinator will be responsible for consequences and will report the information in the Discipline Section of PowerSchool.
