Jr. Varsity Men's Volleyball

The Junior Varsity Volleyball Team had a very successful season. The boys started the season with a berth in the semifinals of the Memorial tournament, and continued to build as the year progressed. The high-light of the season was the Romero Tournament. The team swept the round robin and continued to fight their way through the quarter and semifinals. Unfortunately, the boys came up against some tough competition when they played against Ross Shepard in the finals, and had to settle for silver. The boys had an excellent season overall, and Coach Faught and Boychuk look forward to continuing the proud Baron legacy next season.

Jr. Varsity Women's Volleyball

The Junior Varsity Women’s Volleyball team at Louis St. Laurent was made up of an enthusiastic group of young athletes who competed in Division 3 in Metro Edmonton. Throughout the tournaments they com-peted in, including the Canmore Invitational, the girls bonded and developed their skills as proud LSL Barons! With momentous wins, and heartbreaking losses during the 2016 season, our girls showed their resilience and passion for the sport. Go Barons Go!

Varsity Men's Volleyball

The Louis St. Laurent Barons Volleyball team was a young but very ath-letic group of men. This year the team competed in the Premier Divi-sion 1 in Metro Edmonton. Our school has a strong tradition of volley-ball excellence, competing in the Provincial Championships 8 of the past 10 years. LSL is known for its SMASH Volleyball Tournament which is played during the Halloween weekend just before playoffs. This is one of the Premier Volleyball Tournaments in the Province featuring the best 3A schools in all of Alberta. Last year 7 of the 8 men’s teams who participated in SMASH competed at the Provincial Championship. This years’ edition of the Barons was one of the most athletic and well-rounded teams coaches Peel & Edgelow have ever coached. #eightisenough. They finished 1st in Canmore Invitational and 2nd in our Metro Zone Championship earning a wildcard berth at the 2016 Provincial Championships finishing 5th in the Province.

Varsity Women's Volleyball

Louis St. Laurent Varsity Women’s Volleyball team had an amazing year. Finishing first in their division, before playoffs, they finished the regular season with a 10 - 2 record. There were plenty of highs and lows, but this was more than a team, they were family. The whole team was supportive, worked hard, and had fun. Favourite moments included themed practices (80s inspired and the battle of the mustaches), pre-game dancing, rookie idol, vlogs, the lobster hat and the rookies’ Halloween costumes. Truly a year to remember.
