Dean Fairall is from St. Albert, Alberta and started playing the game of lacrosse at a young age of 3 years old.
Dean spent most of his minor lacrosse years playing goalie for the St. Albert Rams.
At the age of 15, Dean transitioned into offensive player which then landed him a spot on the Junior A Edmonton Eclipse at 16 years old.
In his Junior A career, Dean had the opportunity to play for the Sherwood Park Titans, St. Albert Miners, and Okotoks Raiders gaining experience from different coaches. Dean made an appearance in the 2011 Minto Cup, and the 2015 Western Finals during his time in Junior A.
In 2012, Dean attended St. Francis Xavier High School’s Lacrosse Program where learned a lot about the game of field lacrosse and was lead to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona to play field lacrosse in the MCLA.
In Dean’s four years at GCU, he has accumulated 146 goals and 108 assists with a total of 254 points. During his MCLA career, Dean was named to the All-American team 3 times, the All-Conference team 3 times, the All Tournament team once and the All Freshmen team once.
Dean was also named the Inside Lacrosse pre-season player of the year leading up to his senior season in 2016. In 2015, Dean and GCU Lacrosse won the MCLA National Championship in dramatic fashion beating Colorado University buffaloes 9-8 in the National final.
Dean has had a lot of success in his field and box lacrosse career and we look forward to having him pass his knowledge and enthusiasm onto the academy members this year!
