Ekota Rink Opens Tomorrow!
The Knottwood Community League operates the Ekota Rink located at 1415 Knottwood Rd. East during the winter months. It will re-open for the 2019-2020 skating season on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

Please see the skate times, rink rules and costs below.

Winter Skate times: Monday – Friday 5 pm to 9 pm Saturday – 10am to 9pm Sunday – 11 am to 7 pm


  • No skating when temperatures are above -2 degrees Celsius or below -20 (includes windchill).
  • No skating when rink attendant is not on duty. If the lights are not on and the building is not open during these opening hours, the ice is not open.
  • Helmets are required for anyone under the age of 18. They are also recommended for adults.
  • Skaters under the age of 8 must be actively supervised by a responsible person aged 13 or older.


FREE for Community League Members (any league) – You will need a skate tag to use the ice. Please contact if you did not receive skate tags when you purchased your Knottwood membership.

$3/per person for non-members

$5 for a 2019-20 skate tag (expires August 2020)

Memberships and skate tags will be available for sale at the rink shack.

To purchase a membership for the year (Sept – August):

$25 for family, $15 for Seniors, and $10 for individuals. You can now purchase your Knottwood Community League membership online on below or at any Servus Credit Union location. Questions re: memberships? Email

Holiday Lights 2019.

We want to see your holiday displays! If you live in Knottwood we want to see your house all lit up!
Simply send us a photo(s) or a video of your home.  We will post them to our Knottwood Community League Facebook page and Instagram pages.
The top five houses with the most likes or hearts will win some Knottwood swag, including a community league membership (which gets you access to free swimming, skating and more), and passes to popular City of Edmonton attractions. 
Please help us spread the word!
The contest runs now until January 2nd. Be sure to like our Facebook page and Instagram page.  Invite your neighbours to do so as well.

Upcoming Lego Workshop

HOLIDAY PROMOTION: Makes a great holiday gift! Register by December 21, and you will be entered to win a FREE registration for this class.
This January, we are excited to present a new four-week activity for kids at the Knottwood Community Hall: Lego Workshop! Participants will use LEGO® bricks as a creative medium to bring their ideas to life.
During the workshop, Lego Mentors will lead the kids through games and activities — all using Lego! There will be challenges, teamwork, fun “homework”, plus prizes and a lot of fun. Open for kids from 6 to 14.
Starting Friday, January 17
6:30-8 pm
Knottwood Community Hall

Cost per 4-week session:
Community League Members (any league): $40 per child/youth
Non-members: $50 per child/youth

Knottwood Community League members: You can now purchase discount movie passes on our website! Place your order online and you can pick up your passes at your convenience (within one to 3 days) in Knottwood.

Bulk purchases of 5 passes or more can be mailed (will take up to two weeks to arrive). PLEASE NOTE: You must be a Knottwood Community League member to purchase this pass and will require your membership number. Need your membership number? Email
