Hello OLMC families and welcome back to school after Spring Break.
We hope that you and your family are all coping with the changes in society that have happened since we were last together. We are now in the new reality where we have shifted to online learning and will be working with students at a distance. Our focus for grades 4 to 9 will be working on the core subjects of math, language arts, science, and social. For kindergarten to grade 3 the focus is on literacy and numeracy in the work and activities planned. Our religion program will also be integrated into the work over the next while and there are links from our District Chaplain below.
As parents you play an important role in supporting your children and you must be able to make it work for your family and household. Hopefully the balance between your day to day life and school work will work out in developing successful routines. Take time for physical movement, quiet reading, and wellness for all ages.
Many of our teachers are working on Google classrooms for assignments and communication. If your child has not been on already, this is a good place to start. For access, open a google browser and search for google classroom or have them log in to their Google account (top right corner of the window). When they log in, it is their student id number followed by @school.ecsd.net Then they enter their password.
If their teacher has already added them, they should see their class or classes with messages and assignments. For some, the teachers will be sending out a code for them to enter and join a class. This will be emailed out later today.
If you want a video of how to get into Google classrooms, click: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYX_SWMREpk&feature=youtu.be

Thank you for your support. Blessings to all at this time.
Classes cancelled -effective March 16
All classes at our school and across Alberta are
cancelled indefinitely in response to the spread of Covid-19 virus. Teachers
will be working on ways regarding the continuation of learning and we will
share this with you as we are able through email and on the internet. For
students needing to retrieve personal belongings from the school, we have staff
here for regular school hours (8:00 - 3:00) and there will be access if needed.
Please buzz in at the front door for access to the school.
Updates will be
available on our Division website: www.ecsd.net
Take care of yourselves and your family
