Edmonton Catholic Schools continue to work toward academic success for every student. To this end, starting in the 2019-2020 school year, we will implement a new feature within PowerSchool which will help parents monitor their child’s academic growth throughout the school year. PowerTeacherPro is a student progress program that was piloted and successfully implemented in 9 of our Elementary schools during the past school year.
The PowerSchool Parent Portal remains the web-based system linking home to school (where attendance and bussing information can be found, and where fees can be paid.) In the new school year, through the PowerSchool site, parents will also be able to view their child’s on-going progress at the time of student assessment with Level of Achievement marks related to curricular outcomes, in addition to occasional comments and/or assignment information. Parents will be able to access information about their child’s progress during the learning process, as well as at key points during the year when summary information about achievement is posted. There will also be a student progress summary report available online at the end of January and June.
Below, you will find a guide to the ongoing student progress information you will be able to access starting in September.
In the next few weeks there will be a video tutorial with similar information which will be available on École Escuela Grandin’s website at www.grandin.ecsd.net.
Parents are also encouraged to attend the Curriculum Information Night, for parents only, on Wednesday, September 18th, to find out more about PowerTeacherPro and your child’s academic plan for the year.
If you do not yet have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, (powerschool.ecsd.net/public) please contact the office at 780 482-3676.
Thank you for all you do to support your children and our home-school partnership.
