Terry Fox Campaign

The annual Terry Fox Run was a huge success and our school was able to collect $266.55 to donate to the Terry Fox Fund and cancer research.  Well done, St. Anne!

St. Francis of Assisi Healthy Breakfast Program

As our fall social justice project, the families at St. Anne School collected cereal boxes to support the healthy breakfast program at St. Francis of Assisi.  ‚ÄčThe support was overwhelming and we were able to collect over 60 cereal boxes.  This was a wonderful opportunity for our children to help other children within our school district.

During the Advent season, we remembered those around us who were lacking in basic needs and we reached out to them.

For our Advent social justice project, St. Anne School raised money to support the Sign of Hope Campaign.  The Sign of Hope Society is a non-profit organization responsible for the fundraising and community relations endeavors of Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Services. Every year, the society holds a fundraising campaign in communities throughout central and northeast Alberta (as defined by the boundaries of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton).

To raise money for this charitable organization, St. Anne participated in two activities which brought in $1070 in donations.  On December 15, we held a Break the Rules Day, and on December 22, the students enjoyed a movie and popcorn afternoon.

Students overwhelmingly supported this wonderful cause and had fun doing so!

For the season of Lent, students at St. Anne learned to be true philanthropists.  They donated their earnings and their allowances to help children in need from other parts of the world.

The Holy Childhood Association was chosen this year as the benefactor of our global social justice project for the season of Lent.  This organization provides school materials to nursery and primary school children in Nigeria.  Children in Peru and around the world benefit from the nutrition programs, medicine, clean water, shelter and education that the HCA funds.  Together, we raised $520.81.  THANK YOU!!!
