TERRY FOX CAMPAIGN

The annual Terry Fox Run was a huge success and our school was able to collect $298.45 to donate to the Terry Fox Fund and cancer research.  Well done, St. Anne!

FALL SOCIAL JUSTICE CAMPAIGN

In conjunction with Thanksgiving, St. Anne students and staff collected non-perishable food items for one of our very own district schools, St. Teresa of Calcutta.  We would like to thank the St. Anne community for all the donations!

SIGN OF HOPE

During the Advent season, we remembered those around us who were lacking in basic needs and we reached out to them.

For our Advent social justice project, St. Anne School raised money to support the Sign of Hope campaign and the ECS Foundation.

The Sign of Hope Society is a non-profit organization responsible for the fundraising and community relations endeavors of Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Services. Every year, the society holds a fundraising campaign in communities throughout central and northeast Alberta (as defined by the boundaries of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton).

The Edmonton Catholic School Foundation wants to preserve, protect and strengthen Catholic education. They work towards providing financial assistance where they can when needed to help remove challenges students face that may prevent them from having and achieving the best educational experience possible.

To raise money for these charitable organizations, St. Anne participated in two activities.  On December 20th, we held a Break the Rules Day, and on December 22st, the students entered a Best Seats in the House movie raffle.

The money received at our Family Advent Mass collection was also put towards our Advent social justice projects.  In total, we collected just over $722.  Well done, St. Anne!

At the same time, students created a giant gingerbread house for our school community to fill with food donations for the Edmonton Food Bank.  We collected over 74 kilograms of food!

Students overwhelmingly supported these wonderful causes and had fun while doing so!

ST. ANNE SHROVE TUESDAY CARNIVAL

On Shrove Tuesday, St. Anne students participated in our annual carnival.  Students in Division 2 helped set up and run the stations.  Fun was had by all!  We were able to raise just over $681.  How awesome!  We will be donating the funds to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

HOLY CHILDHOOD SOCIETY

For the season of Lent, students at St. Anne learned to be true philanthropists.  They were asked to donated their earnings and their allowances to help children in need in other parts of the world.

The Holy Childhood Association has been chosen this year as the benefactor of our global social justice project for the season of Lent.  This organization provides school materials to nursery and primary school children in Nigeria.  Children in Peru and around the world benefit from the nutrition programs, medicine, clean water, shelter and education that the HCA funds.  Together, we raised $308.70!  Well done, St. Anne!!!
