Dear Parents/Guardians:

What a glorious month April was with our Celebration of Easter with Father Carlos and our chance to welcome the warm weather and longer days into our lives. Everyone smiles brighter when spring is in the air!

We also celebrated the gift of our Artist in Residency. This year our Kindergarten Teacher, Justyna Luca is leading us on an amazing Art Transform. We are in the process of watching her work with classes to create reflective plastic sculptures that culminate in a beautiful display of Plastic Color Creations that will absolutely amaze you. So grateful that we have the support of our SAC to pay for supplies that made this happen! Thank you Mrs. Lucas for giving so generously your artistic talent and joy for the arts.

After much waiting and anticipation, we will be celebrating the blessing and opening of our ROSARY GARDEN at 1pm on Friday, May 27th! With the assistance of many dedicated parents, students and staff, we will see emerge a beautiful place to pray and celebrate our school and community. Our hope is that this garden creates a permanent gathering space to reflect and enjoy nature in a sacred place!

With 8 weeks remaining, we prepare our Grade 6 students for writing Part A of the English Language Arts Provincial Achievement Tests on Thursday, May 12. As well our yearly Feast Day is coming up. This year we celebrate as a catholic community by going to Mass and having a barbeque on Wednesday, June 1st.

There is lots of excitement in the building as we anticipate our next renovation starting Monday, May 2. This will include our 100V A/B class moving to the Dolphin Room for the last 2 months of school, and the addition of 3 new portables and a washroom to create space for our growing enrollment in September of 2016. We are also feeling hopeful about the possibility of a second parking lot being added to our school to finally meet the needs of our growing staff.

Be in touch anytime with your questions and comments. Happy Spring Everyone!

Kind Regards,

Rena Methuen, Principal and Kevin Myskiw, Assistant Principal
