On behalf of the staff of Father Michael Mireau Elementary/Junior High School, we would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome you to our school community. We are excited for the opening of our new school and look forward to meeting each of you in September. It is an honour and privilege for our staff to be educating 700 Pre-Kindergarten to Grade nine students entrusted to us for the 2017-2018 school year. We are committed to providing children with an outstanding education and the very best in Christian character foundation. We are very proud of the program we will be offering to our students, and we encourage you to make the most of your time with us. As your administrators, we are committed to your children. They are at the heart of our service and we will strive to work closely with the students, staff and parent community to ensure that each child at Father Michael Mireau Elementary/Junior High School will be encouraged to achieve his/her academic best in a Catholic learning environment.
At Father Michael Mireau Elementary/Junior High School each student will be known by name and each student will feel cared for. Our high expectations for academic achievement and personal experience draw our God-given potential of each child, helping them become the people they are meant to be.
In all that we do, we encourage student learning and celebrate the gift of life through our Lord and Saviour. Our students, at Father Michael Mireau Elementary/Junior High School, will learn not only academics, art, music and athletics but will learn to love and care for each other and all the gifts they have given. Our staff has been busy planning and organizing this first year filled with many exciting learning activities. As we work together, let us encourage each other to be "completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:2-3).
As parents, you have an essential role to play in the educational development of your children. We invite you to join in your child's educational journey by sharing your time, strengths and talents. Together we can make a difference in our students' learning.
May God's blessings be upon us as we begin our 2017-2018 school year.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mrs. N. Papanicolas Mrs. D. Rankin-Anderson Mrs. Michelle Koshka
