École Monsignor William Irwin Catholic Elementary School is happy to work in partnership with St. Thomas More Parish and other schools in our St. Thomas More Family. Our aim is to support parents and children in preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. Sacramental Sessions are offered in the fall, winter and spring in order to accommodate the busy schedules of families in our school community.
Did you know the oldest person to have been baptized at St. Thomas More Church was almost 80 years old?
Through baptism, we celebrate our entrance into the church and are welcomed into a new and spiritual family, a community of faith. The Sacrament of Baptism (infants to age 7) is celebrated throughout the year. Parent(s) prepare for this wonderful sacrament by providing documentation at the Office Visit and attending 2 evening sessions.
Our R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children) Program is for children 8 – 15 years of age who are inquiring and seeking initiation into the Catholic Church. This is for children who have not been baptized and wish to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church OR for children who have been baptized as members of another Christian community and wish to be initiated into the Catholic Church. Classes start in September and run through to May.
To find out more, brochures are available at the school office, the back of the church or go to STM Parish sacraments site for information.
May God fill you and your family with His loving presence throughout the school year.
