Dear Parents and Guardians,

We want to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment. Please know how much we appreciate your constructive feedback. Although our students are not physically with us, the relationships and bonds we have formed with them continue to live on in our digital environment.  Our students and staff are settling into the routines of online learning: checking for their assignments, submitting work and participating in Teams meetings.

We also want to assure you that we are still here for all of our families. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if he/she needs support or if as a family you are challenged to complete the work assigned. We recognize that families are trying to balance the various demands being placed on them and we are here to support you, so please reach out to us. Let’s do what we can, with what we have, and all will be well!

Alberta Education announced funding cuts on March 28th which have resulted -at Sister Annata Brockman- in several temporary layoffs for our educational assistants, admin assistants, and other staff effective April 30th. While we are sad to say “goodbye” to these trusted and valued members of our team, we know that these are temporary measures, taken in extraordinary times. The support that these individuals provide will be taken over by remaining staff. Please rest assured that our children will not be negatively impacted by this change.

Although Easter may seem like a distant memory, it actually lasts for 50 days in our Catholic faith. There is much to celebrate in the resurrection of Jesus and the new life this offers, so let us find opportunities to be grateful for our families, health, and the signs of new life that spring brings to us.

Wishing each and every one of the members of our remarkable community courage, strength and good health!
