Alternative Education
Student Support Services provides alternative educational opportunities and programs to youth, adults and children within the Edmonton Catholic Schools’ community.

Digital Citizenship
As our students interact with digital tools and technology inside and outside of the classroom, it is essential that teachers and parents work together with students to build foundational Digital Citizenship skills and awareness for appropriate and positive use of technology.
Dual Credit Program
Dual Credit opportunities allow students to get a head start on their future by exploring areas of interest in high school.
ECSD Online 2022-2023
Edmonton Catholic Schools will offer online learning for the 2021-2022 school year. We will be providing online synchronous (real-time instruction) programming for Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Focus Schools and Alternate Programs
Edmonton Catholic Schools is proud to continue to offer Faith and Choice for students in Edmonton. The Division provides students with additional choices to enhance their learning, with all the benefits of a faith-based education.
French Immersion
French immersion is a form of bilingual education that provides students with the opportunity to become functionally bilingual in French by the end of Grade 12.
Inclusive Education
As a faith community, the Division welcomes all resident students into our schools. Welcoming, inclusive, caring, respectful and safe learning environments create a sense of belonging for all learners and their families.
Indigenous Learning Services
Indigenous Learning Services continues to assist Division schools to be responsive to the needs of Indigenous students. Indigenous Learning Services has taken a leadership role in Alberta in the development of "Promising Practices" in urban Indigenous education in integrated settings.
Information For New Immigrants
One World . . . One Centre houses several services that provide support to our students and families newly arrived in Canada, as well as the staff in our schools.
International Student Program
Edmonton Catholic Schools welcomes students from other countries and faiths to participate in our education programs. We are a publicly funded school that delivers the curriculum of Alberta Education to students within a Christ-centred learning community.
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
Welcome to the Edmonton Catholic School District (ECSD) Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program. We are a not for profit organization funded by the Government of Canada to provide language instruction to refugees, landed immigrants and permanent residents.
Mental Health
Edmonton Catholic Schools is committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming, caring, respectful, safe and Catholic environment that promotes well-being of all and fosters community support for achieving this goal.
New Curriculum
In September 2022, Kindergarten to Grade 6 students will learn a new provincial curriculum in Physical Education and Wellness (K-6), English Language Arts and Literature (K-3 only), and Mathematics (K-3 only).
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Edmonton Catholic Schools welcomes children and their families to come learn, play, and grow in our faith based, inclusive Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs.
Supporting Inclusive Learning at Home
These resources, provided by our multi-disciplinary team, provide families with practical tips, videos, strategies and tools to support and extend learning in the home environment.
Summer School
Edmonton Catholic School of Alternative Education offers a wide range of 10, 20, and 30 level classroom-based, self-paced, and online high school courses during the month of July. Our programs give students the opportunity to repeat a course or to get a jump start in their academics.
