The ECSD Re-Entry Handbook was developed in consultation and with resources from Alberta Education, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Occupational Health and Safety legislation and stakeholder survey responses from parents, students, and staff. It offers guidance for administrators and school staff keeping in mind the Division’s priorities:

  • Ensure the safety of all students and staff while mitigating risks and challenges of COVID-19.
  • Provide a high-quality faith-based education.

The ECSD Re-Entry Handbook also addresses staff mental health and includes supports and resources to assist staff as mental health concerns have increased throughout the world since the pandemic began. The Division has also created a Staff Wellness Committee that supports the well-being of all employees.

Some of the links to the Re-Entry Plan are for staff and internal and are not accessible by the public.

As of April 2021, AHS recommends that all Albertans, including students and staff in schools, who are close contacts be tested twice. The first test should be booked as soon as possible after receiving notification of the exposure. The second test should occur between Day 10 and Day 14 (preferably on Day 10) of the quarantine period, if the first test is negative. Anyone who develops symptoms should be tested as soon as possible. You can book an online appointment by using the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment tool or by calling Health Link at 811.  It is important to note that even if your child tests negative for the virus, they are still required to stay home for a minimum of 14 days.

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.” - 3 John 1:2
