At the direction of Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Alberta Health Services is notifying ECSD daily of the cases involving students and staff who were infectious with COVID-19 while at school. When schools notify their communities of possible COVID-19 exposure, we will share the school's name, the date reported, and the number of cases reported on this public page.
To protect an individual's privacy, no further details will be shared. This information is updated every weekday around 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
Alerts and Outbreaks
Alberta Health is posting information publicly about COVID-19 alerts and outbreaks in schools. You will be able to access the information, here. Schools with at least 2 positive COVID-19 cases who were present at school while infectious will be shared if they are under Alert (2 to 4 cases and 5 to 9 cases) or Outbreak (10+ cases within a 14 day period) status.
In the event of an outbreak, families will receive notification by letter from AHS, distributed by the school. Families who receive this letter should review the information carefully. Please monitor your children for signs of illness and keep them home from school if they are sick, and call AHS at 811 with any questions. AHS determines the length of the outbreak period.
