ECSD Online 2021-2022
Edmonton Catholic Schools will offer online learning for the 2021-2022 school year. Genesis Catholic Online Elementary/Junior High and St. Joseph Catholic Online High School will be providing online synchronous (real-time instruction) programming for Kindergarten to Grade 12. Pre-Kindergarten online programming will be available through the 100 Voices site locations.
What to expect?
ECSD is committed to offering excellent quality education for all students. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted inherent benefits to this learning style and created a request from some of our families to continue in a virtual classroom. Online programming will be teacher-led, focused on supporting online students exclusively, rooted in structure, and designed for connection. It is reliant on a commitment between our teachers, students, and their parents/guardians.
Families will only be able to sign-up for online learning upon registration for the 2021-2022 school year. There will be no other time for entry points where a family can choose for their child to access online learning once the new school year starts.
There will be one opportunity for students to return to in-person learning at their original community school at the start of semester two on February 1, 2022.
We will monitor and adjust as required and keep our stakeholders informed. We remain responsive to the direction and guidance of Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services in addressing needs of our students that may arise due to the pandemic. Which program are you interested in?
