Board of Trustees Artwork Contest

Calling all Edmonton Catholic Schools student artists! The ECSD Board of Trustees needs your help in creating artwork to be featured on our greeting cards. Enter your original artwork for a chance to be one of up to 10 submissions chosen! If chosen, your artwork will not only be used on Division related greeting cards but also be displayed in the Board of Trustees Board Room.  

Instructions

  1. The Board is looking for a variety of artwork from students across the Division suitable for use in the following categories:
    1. Indigenous 
    2. Seasonal
      • Including all seasons – spring, summer, fall and winter
    3. Religious
      • Including Christmas and Easter as well as general religious depictions
    4. Miscellaneous
      • Use your creativity! Show us your best original artwork
  2. Each submission must include a completed and signed entry form and the original artwork submission
  3. Drawings, paintings and sketches will all be accepted but must meet the following criteria
    1. Minimum size of 4” x 6” and maximum of 8.5” x 11”
    2. Created on paper or canvas
    3. Photography will not be accepted
    4. Please do not enter art from copyrighted sources such as pictures originating from Disney, Marvel, DC Comics and Pixar
    5. Submissions MUST be accompanied by a completed and signed entry form, which includes parental/guardian consent.
  4. Submissions can be made to the Board of Trustees one of two ways:
    1. Electronically by email to board@ecsd.net 
    2. Regular mail to:

ANY EMAIL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE PROVIDED IN HARDCOPY SHOULD YOUR SUBMISSION BE CHOSEN. 

Submission deadline October 31, 2020 by midnight


Contest Rules and Conditions:

  1. This contest is open to 100 Voices to Grade 12 Edmonton Catholic Schools students only
  2. Students can enter on their own or through their school; however all submissions must be accompanied by a completed and signed entry and consent form
  3. Up to 10 submissions will be chosen
  4. Any artwork chosen will need to be provided in hardcopy format for re-production. DO NOT FOLD ARTWORK
  5. Only artwork on approved materials will be considered
  6. Artwork submitted must be original and suitable for use on greeting cards
  7. More than one entry per student is permitted. Each entry must be accompanied by separate signed and completed entry form
  8. The parent/guardian of the winning entry must agree to the following:
    1. The child’s name will appear on the finished holiday card.
    2. Artwork will become the property of the Edmonton Catholic School Division
    3. All copyright is transferred to Edmonton Catholic School Division 
    4. The Edmonton Catholic School Division will not return submitted artwork
  9. In addition to the child’s name and reproduction of the winning artwork for the purpose of greeting cards, the child’s name, grade and artwork may be displayed in the Board of Trustees Boardroom and reproduced in other publications related to the Board of Trustees including the Board of Trustees newsletter
  10. All entries will be judged by the Board of Trustees or an appointed Board of Trustees engagement committee 
  11. The Edmonton Catholic School Division reserve the right to cancel the contest at any time
