Online Learning Extended for Grades 7 to 12

Important Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Government of Alberta announced on Thursday, April 29 an extension for online learning for all Edmonton Catholic Schools students in Grades 7 to 12. The extension is part of new targeted restrictions implemented to address growing COVID-19 cases in hot spot communities across Alberta, including Edmonton. At this time, in-person learning is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 17.

For parents of students in Grades 7 to 12, the following information is still in place:

  • School schedules and hours will remain the same during online learning.
  • All schools continue to remain open, with COVID-19 access restrictions still in place. Administration can be contacted to schedule appointments or for further information. Online meetings or phone calls remain the recommended method of contact.
  • Inclusive supports remain in place for students.

There will be no change for our students in 100 Voices to Grade 6. Online students in these grades will continue with their online learning, while students who are in-person at school will also continue in-person.

The safety and well-being of all students and staff remains our top priority. As we continue this temporary shift in learning for junior high and high school students, we are committed to providing a strong and consistent learning environment. Collectively, we will help ensure that our students and staff maintain routines for successful learning while fostering their well-being.

Thank you for your support as we work together to help prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in our learning communities by extending these measures.

Yours in Christ,

Robert Martin
Chief Superintendent
