International Day of Mourning - April 28

Each year on April 28, we commemorate those who have lost their lives, been injured, or became ill due to work-related incidents. Day of Mourning is a powerful reminder for all of us to renew our commitment to improving health and safety in our workplaces. On April 28, please take a moment to not only remember those we have lost but also use this day to raise awareness of health and safety and the importance of creating a culture of prevention in the workplace to avoid injuries and illnesses.

Alberta lost 150 people to workplace injury or illness in 2020.
