For it is in giving that we receive…St. Francis of Assisi

Dear Staff of Edmonton Catholic Schools,

Each fall, many of our schools and our staff participate in the We Care Challenge. This outstanding endeavor raises significant funds for two Catholic organizations that have tremendous impact on our Edmonton Catholic Schools’ community and beyond.

Our We Care Challenge provides schools and sites the opportunity to join together to fundraise so that their collective impact is great. Through this giving program, we receive the gift of making a difference for our vulnerable families and we receive the gift of being able to provide greater opportunities in our classrooms. You may choose to direct your dollars towards one or both of the following worthwhile causes as part of the We Care Challenge.

The mission of the Edmonton Catholic Schools Foundation is to raise public awareness concerning the benefits of and to enhance the funding for Catholic education in the City of Edmonton. The Foundation is committed to raising additional financial resources to support the children and youth of Edmonton Catholic Schools. The Dreams for Kids campaign raises funds to support our students in many ways that nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits. Please visit http://www.ecsfoundation.ca/ to learn more about their great work.

Catholic Social Services’ Sign of Hope Campaign is a vital source of funds for the programs that they offer to 60,000 people each year throughout northeast and central Alberta. Through the generosity of thousands of individuals, business owners, corporations, and social organizations, approximately $3 million is raised on an annual basis. These funds are critical to the success of programs and services provided to help people of all faiths and cultures. Please visit www.signofhope.ab.ca to learn more about their programs and services.

Edmonton Catholic Schools will, once again, offer our staff the convenience of automatic payroll deduction as part of the We Care Staff Payroll Giving Program. Simply visit http://wecaregiving.ecsd.net/ to make a payroll donation. You may choose to donate to one or both charities in this way. The payroll deduction program will run from January to December 2017. You may also make a one-time donation. If you participated in our payroll giving program last year, please consider renewing your commitment once again.

Thank you for your continued commitment to bearing witness that We Care in Edmonton Catholic Schools!

Sincerely,

Joan Carr
