“K and E Pathway is designed for students in grades 7 to 12 who demonstrate reading, writing, mathematical and/or other levels of achievement two to three grade levels below their ageappropriate grade” (Guide to Education: ECS to Grade 12/ September 2015. P. 54.).
Junior High K&E courses include four academic courses – Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science – and nine occupational areas.
Students choosing senior high Knowledge and Employability courses typically are wanting to enhance their academic and occupational competencies and transition into employment and/or continuing education and training opportunities. Senior High K&E courses include academic -4 courses in English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science as well as occupational, career and technology and work experience courses.
Students may combine K&E courses with other junior-senior high school courses or transition in and out of K&E courses throughout grades 7 – 12. Students taking K&E courses are on a pathway towards a Certificate of High School Achievement.
Knowledge & Employability programming is offered at all Junior and Senior High Schools, or as a congregated program at: H. E. Beriault Junior High, J. J. Bowlen Junior High, Holy Trinity High School, and St. Joseph High School.
