Career Skills Centre

The Career Skills Centre, housed at St. Joseph High School, is Edmonton Catholic School District’s centralized technical and trade career education site.  There are many career training programs available including:

    • Autobody Repair
    • Automotive Service
    • Baking
    • Building Construction/Cabinetry
    • Communication Technology
    • Cosmetology
    • Culinary arts
    • Fashion & Design
    • Health Care Aide
    • Massage Therapy
    • Robotics
    • Welding

Edmonton Catholic students can remain registered at their home school while attending the Career Skills Centre to learn from highly trained industry-experienced teachers so they can get a head start in a career field with skills-based training.  The Career Skills Centre is for students who have completed high school but want to learn the skills required for work or post-secondary advanced standing, as well as students in grades 11 and 12 who want to access the expertise and training in technical or trades areas.  Students who attend the the Career Skills Centre will gain entrance requirements to post-secondary institutions, develop a professional portfolio, gain experience and confidence in their career field, and enter a Work Placement related to their career choice.
