Here is an opportunity to get started on your future in the world of becoming a pilot.  You may start exploring your interests by enrolling in the dual credit opportunity of Aviation.

The opportunity of Aviation will consist of two courses, which will build knowledge in aviation, along with practical flight simulation and flying experiences, that are recognized through the Aviation Accreditation Board International under the academic programming of Mount Royal University. Students will develop their knowledge to achieve the Transport Canada requirements respecting navigation and aviation operations, along with Basic Meteorology to interpret weather information for pilots as supplied by Atmospheric Environment Services. Through a partnership with WestJet, students will learn about the pathway of aviation from experts in the field, along with experiencing on-site hanger visits at the Edmonton International Airport.

Courses: Introduction to Aviation Navigation - September, 2019 - January, 2020

                 Introduction to Aviation Meteorology - February, 2020 - June, 2020

Location: St. Joseph High School from 4:00 - 7:00 pm 

When: Monday 4:00 - 7:00 pm. 

Prerequisites:

Completed Math 10 - 1 and English 10 - 1 with 60%

Concurrently Math 20 - 1 and English 20 - 1

Transferability: Each course will be recognized as 5 CTS Advanced credits from Alberta Education and 3 credit post-secondary credits from Mount Royal University under the Bissett School of Business, which leads towards an Aviation Diploma.
