As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

(Colossians 3:12)

The imagery for the 2016-17 District theme “We are Called… to be Leaders of Hope and Mercy” is based on the idea of leadership and affecting change. The basis of the idea is how even as a single entity, teachers/District can affect change one student at a time in a multiplying effect like a single stone dropped in the ocean creating a tsunami on the other side of the world. Change for a better world - Hope for the future. As adults we relate and shape the minds of the individual students that are then set out upon the world who also in turn will affect others they interact upon. In a broader scope we as a school District have the ability to touch people across the world in time spans longer than “us” as a single person might exist.

The image itself plays with the idea of a global community and the rippling effect caused by the continual motion forward which is emphasized with the addition of arrows. The two sets of arrows show two types of motion; the external movement/steps forward we are always making while the second set wraps the globe creating the cross shape and shows motion as a convergence, a coming together. Three light reflections show on the globe in reference to the trinity while also referencing the light of God as a central image to the cross.

A simple colour palette was used; blue in reference to rippling water/air and gold as the second choice pulled from the District logo and church, a complementary colour to the blue tones.
