It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing this message with you.  Our beloved shepherd and friend, Archbishop Joseph MacNeil,  passed away today.  Please pray for him as he makes his final journey home.

We begin our prayer in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.

O God, who chose your servant Archbishop Joseph from among your priests, grant, we pray,

Heavenly Father, we come to you with heavy hearts. Take the hand of our beloved shepherd and friend, Archbishop MacNeil, and make yourself known to him.

Through the intercession of our most blessed mother, we pray:

Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Thank you to Sandra Talarico for preparing a prayer to share with staff and students.

The three videos below feature Archbishop Joseph MacNeil. His Grace was one of three living namesakes in our District when three schools opened between 2003 and 2010. Archbishop Joseph MacNeil School opened in 2003, and Sister Annata Brockman and Monsignor Fee Otterson schools opened in 2010.
