COVID-19 - Letter to Parents

March 15, 2020

RE: Class Cancellations Dear Parents/Guardians.

Based on advice from Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Minister of Education announced today that all Kindergarten to Grade 12 classes will be cancelled indefinitely throughout the province in response to the continued spread of COVID-19. This includes daycares and 100 Voices programs and Alternative Education.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our Division diligently monitors the developing situation to protect the health and safety of all students and staff.

We recognize the significant impact this decision will have on families, students, staff, as well as the broader community, but this precaution is necessary to keep people safe. We thank the provincial government, Alberta Education and Alberta Health for their remarkable responsiveness to COVID-19 and the measures put in place to ensure that we continue to contain the spread of COVID-19and thereby protect children and families across the province.

Parents should go to their children’s school to gather their belongings and learning resources over the coming days. The process for this will be communicated to you by your principal, shortly. Further information regarding the continuation of learning will also be shared as that process is confirmed in the days ahead.

You will see a banner on with more information. Please consult our online messaging as your priority source of information, before contacting the school.
