Hello everyone….Another world tragedy…..At least 49 people were killed and 20  or more seriously injured after mass shootings at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch Friday, in a carefully planned and unprecedented attack that has shocked the usually peaceful nation.

Today, we pray for the victims and survivors of the shootings, we pray for their families and friends, and we stand in solidarity with those who face a long journey of recovery from their serious injuries and traumatic experiences. May they find solace in their families, friends, and community.

Almighty God, we come to you with open hearts and minds to pray for the victims and survivors of this terrible tragedy. We share the pain of those who were injured; who bear the great physical and emotional burdens of violence and hatred.

We pray for the dead and especially for the people of Christchurch whose lives have been altered forever. May they turn their prayers into actions of peace, love, and understanding and may dialogue and shared humanity replace the violence, horror, and hatred they have experienced.

Through the intercession of our Most Blessed Mother, we pray together: Hail Mary Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.Amen.

Thank you to Sandra Talarico for preparing our prayer.
