“Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Phil 4:8)

This beautiful scripture passage provides the setting for this year’s message for Catholic Education Sunday from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories.  They remind us that Catholic education leads our students through a journey of discovering the Truth that is found the person of Jesus Christ, the goodness that is embodied in the vastness of God’s Creation, and the beauty that is experienced in honoring human dignity and serving others.

This special day is a time for us to join in the Eucharist as a community of believers who are blessed to have the gift of living out our vocation to Catholic education in a publicly funded system and of educating our children through building their relationship with Christ!

On Catholic Education Sunday, our new Board of Trustees will be commissioned by Bishop Bittman at the 12:15 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph Basilica, 10044 - 113 St.  All are welcome to come celebrate our Trustees as they are entrusted with the sacred responsibilities of Catholic education by our faith community.
