Information and Infrastructure Technology Services
Information and Infrastructure Technology Services (IITS) has four major areas as part of its organizational structure resulting in a complete and comprehensive technology service program for Edmonton Catholic Schools. IITS and Emerging Educational Technology in Learning Services – Innovation work collaboratively in order to meet both students and staff needs.
The four major areas within IITS are:
- Administrative Services – providing application development and support services. Current supported applications include: PowerSchool, eLuminate and Edulink.Additionally, the District HelpDesk is managed by Administrative Services.
- Infrastructure Services – provides design and support services for the district technology infrastructure which includes: internet, intranet, cloud productivity, wireless access, datacenter servers, desktops, VoIP management, mobile devices and security services.
- Site Technical Support Services - provides technical support services to schools and sites to directly support their technology. Support includes desktop applications, instructional and administrative computers, local area networks, servers and wireless connectivity.
- Software Development Services - is responsible for custom designed web applications, supporting and extending the District's Line of Business applications. Additionally, they create software that is specific to Edmonton Catholic Schools' needs to ensure maximum productivity. Examples of design solutions include eLuminate for report cards and Field Trip Creator for teachers. Software Development Services is also responsible for the creation of custom reports for many of the District's main line of business applications that pulls data from multiple systems.
IITS is dedicated to delivering highly available services and technological solutions in support of research, teaching, learning and administration. IITS endeavors to offer students and staff an information-rich interactive, education environment that integrates technology into the fabric of learning experiences by providing students and staff with the connectivity, access, information tools and services they require to accomplish their goals.
