Educational Community Partnerships are an essential part of the educational experience. Students learn not only about the world in which they will live and work but also about the potential contribution that they can make as individuals, in both giving and receiving, as members of the community. Edmonton Catholic Schools believes in educational experiences that prepare the next generation to be contributing members of society and influential contributors to the workforce in the 21st century. The pursuit of Educational Community Partnerships supports our belief in building Christ-centered communities of service to one another. For more information, click here.
Educational Community Partnerships share values, objectives, resources and responsibilities through ongoing, mutually beneficial arrangements. The Edmonton Catholic School District collaborates with others towards many educational community partnerships, to achieve common goals for student success. Outlined in the District's 2015-2018 Three-Year Strategic Education Plan and Annual Education Results Report for 2014-2015, a number of Edmonton Catholic School District goals and priorities address the importance of Educational Community Partnerships. These include:
1.2 Promote and foster the presence of Edmonton Catholic Schools in the education, church, civic, business and government communities.
2.1 Focus on partnerships with community groups and government in order to create opportunities that prepare children for formal schooling and continue those supports through division one.
2.4 Create opportunities to engage in collaboration across ministries to guide the development of an integrated early learning approach.
2.5 Ensure the educational experiences meet the diverse needs of our learners and are available to all students.
4.4 Seek, promote and engage in responsive and responsible community partnerships.
4.5 Continue collaboration with partners on high school programming.
5.1 Increase academic success by promoting successful practices to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit students.
