AURORA LIVING: FORMATION THROUGH WORD AND CREATION
Beginning on October the 1st, the Star of the North Retreat House will offer an online three-month module and onsite opening retreat on the theme of Creation. This module will consider the core stories from the Book of Genesis and explore the themes of creation/creativity, self-image and self-expression, land connection and conflicts, and God’s blessing on our journeys as tribes, cultures and peoples formed in the image and likeness of God.
Rooted in our Catholic faith, we are open to be illuminated by other traditions. Central to the program will be ongoing formation with indigenous facilitators. We will dialogue–learn from them, their worldview of creation, and wisdom on themes related to acting justly. For more information and for an overview of the Program, please visit https://www.starofthenorth.ca/programs/aurora-living/ or contact Star of the North directly at (780) 459-5511.
READ-IN WEEK: Readers Wanted!
Read In Week: October 4-8th
Read In Week 2021 will once again be virtual!
Edmonton Catholic Schools is proud to continue to support the committee’s mission to build and enhance both personal and community relationships through literacy and the love of reading.
Theme for 2021: "To Each Their Own Story": We each have our own story. Our own favourite stories to read and our own stories to tell.
With schools unable to welcome guests into their classrooms, we encourage you coordinate virtual read alouds with our schools. Please contact your local school directly, or email email@example.com if you are interested in being a reader this year.
