Summer School TRADES CAREERS Program


Together with The Educational Partnership Foundation, ECSD Alternative Education is offering a tremendous opportunity for high school students who are interested in the Summer School Trades Careers Program at NO COST! Students choose one of two trades to immerse themselves in for four weeks:   

Millwrights (15210 123 Ave. Edmonton) or Ironworks (5720 59 St. Edmonton) 

July 4, 2022 – July 29, 2022 

9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. NOW - Complete Registration Here

SPACE IS LIMITED Maximum 12 student per course. 30% classroom instruction 70% hands-on learning. 

Students will receive work experience credits (5 credits) and prior to the program beginning students will, with the support of their home school and Alternative Education, complete HCS 3000, HCS 3010, and CSTS2020.

Students will gain skills in various aspects of the ironworking trades: structural, ornamental and reinforcing (tying rebar), as well as developing welding skills.

Students will gain skills in various aspects of the millwright/industrial mechanic trade: install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
