ASIST
The Assessment Support and Intervention Success Team (ASIST) offers integrated and wrap-around interventions and supports to at-risk grade 7 – 12 students within Edmonton Catholic Schools. The focus is pro-active. A team consisting of a consultant/teacher, a social worker and other partnering professionals from community agencies will provide the supports needed so the students involved can be successful in their learning environment and develop the attitudes and skills needed to become a good citizen.

Our target group includes students from grades 7-12 who are engaging in at risk behaviors and are/or may be heading towards suspension/expulsion. These at risk behaviors may include the following: peer pressure, mental health concerns, exposure to drugs and alcohol, bullying and gangs and criminal involvement. The program is coordinated by the School of Alternative Education. Students are placed in or referred to the program through District Educational Services (School Operation Services).
