Focus Programs

Knowledge and Employability (Dash 4)

Dash 4 courses are designed for students who have diverse learning needs. These courses focus on developing student strengths, spiritual growth, skills in literacy and numeracy, social interaction and work experience. A team approach is used to ensure that all learners are successful. The K&E pathway is intended to maximize opportunities for student success and support high school completion. Students completing the required K&E courses will receive a Certificate of High School Achievement. Students successful in the K&E Pathway may attain a High School Diploma by ensuring that they meet the bridging criteria.

WIN Program

The WIN Program assists in the education of students with specific special learning needs and allows these students to attain a Certificate of Completion. Instruction focuses on basic academic skills in reading, writing, spelling and math; life and social skill development; leisure and recreational skills; spiritual development and vocational skills. Students learning is designed to enable students to function as independently as possible in society. Programming is determined on an individual basis through the development of a Individualized Personal Plan (IPP) for each student. Instruction takes a number of different forms including one-on-one instruction, small group discussion, classroom instruction, total group activities and work study.
